Cleveland County Fair!!!

We have lived in Norman now for six years and this is the first time we have gone to the fair.  We aren't ones to enjoy big crowds, traffic, or the like, so we try to avoid things like this, but this year I thought it would be fun since the kids were big enough to understand and participate.

So one thing you need to know about my darling daughter is that she likes anything that breathes.  From human babies to animal babies, it doesn't matter she goes NUTS!!!  So of course we had to go see the animals and pet them all!!!

Every kind of farm animal was there!  She was in heaven!

(This is what happens when I get to hold the camera!  I take a picture of the normal photographer!!!)

Baby chick:

Please realize she is screaming "baby" right now and smiling big cheeser smiles because she is so excited!  She does this for most animals!
Sometimes she even gets the animal sounds in their too, when it's not a baby!

N got to give this pig a drink!

He thought it was sooo cool!

So funny story from my youth before I show you pictures of my darlings on the rides.
(feel free to by pass this story if you are only interested in the pictures)

So we were on our annual trip to Utah.  This time we stopped our westward travels for a bit to drive through a wilderness park where you can drive by some animals that you normally don't get to see up close and personal.  So my next sister was in the front seat with the window down getting a pretty good view of all the animals.  There were all kinds.  When we happened to come upon some donkeys that were pretty close to the cars.  I'm sure they were used to the drive by stares of all the tourists.  Now what you must realize now is that we were in our old 8 passenger-fit everything in the back- vinyl seats-must manually roll up the windows-huge gray van at the time and these donkeys were looking for hand outs!  And one was coming straight for my sister's window!  I've never seen a 8 year oldish girl (maybe she was older than that) roll up a window so fast in my life!!!  It was a close call folks!  But she did make it before that donkey could start rummaging through our travel snacks for something he would like.
Now why to I tell you this story? Because something similar happened to E last night.  E was in the stroller and we were looking at some beautiful Appaloosa horses and were by a baby one that stuck it's head out to be petted.  We were petting it and that neck kept coming out of the fence and got really close to E, which she didn't like, of course.  We started pulling away from it and it took a nip of the stroller tray before we could get far enough!  I'm sure there is teeth marks there!  Someone get this horse some food!  :)  But we all survived unscathed!  No worries!

Now on to the rides:

This is the first time either of my kids have been on rides at the fair or anywhere for that matter.   So when N saw the ferris wheel he was so excited!  All he wanted to do was ride the rides.

So we started with the merry-go-round:

It was the only ride both of them could go on really.  They of course loved it.

Then N went on the motorbikes:

See he's in heaven!  Pure joy on this kid's face!

Poor E was to short to ride!  She was so sad!

And finally his first roller coaster!

The man doing this one was really cool!  He got the kids to let go of the bar in front of them and do different hand motions while they were going around.  Do you see that smile??  He didn't want to go home!

Tricks and sweet treats

Here are some cute photos that I took on my phone these last few weeks.  I have to catch up since I didn't post last week.

So I asked N to draw a picture of himself and this is what he drew for me:

I think you can make out most of what I've written about the picture, but the funniest part I think is the squiggle in the middle that he said was "food in my tummy".  He of course was eating an apple at the time so it really didn't surprise me.  He loves to eat!

So these next photos happened when we were watching this little girl and her brother for a friend of mine.  Isn't she sweet?

 N helped feed her:

E was little mother.  She rocked her, helped me feed her,  made sure she was covered up,

played with her, and made sure she was a happy baby.
If anything I had to make sure this little girl wasn't loved to much.

So on Saturday morning we went and played outside in the sprinkler.  Then the bikes got taken out and tricks started.  N had been really into being daring lately, jumping from "high" places, balancing on one leg, etc.  And of course E won't be left behind so she did tricks, too.  Don't worry no one fell and if they did the ground was pretty soaked by this time!

Uh oh Phone photos

So today I'm posting some phone photos.  I know they aren't quite up to par with my usual quality, but since I don't carry around our nice camera everywhere we go, these will have to do.

So this week we were busy! So besides the splash pad and pool, we went to the library where N got his Summer Reading Metal. He was very proud of himself!  Everyone claps after they get it.   He liked being the center of attention.  It was so cute!  We had the librarian giggling the whole time!

And since I can't post a picture of him and not her, here's a girl in a sink:

Which is actually quite convenient since I'm never allowed to go to the bathroom by myself anyway.  At least this way everything stays under the sink and I only have to wash my toothbrush!

4th of July

So we did our annual grill out on the 4th of July with these great people:

The Sorensons.

That's N's best friend over there on the right.  And in case you want a close up of that cute baby they have, here you go:

E calls her "Her baby".  E screeches when she sees her; she's so excited, but is so soft with her and rocks her gently in her car seat, loves to give her kisses, and touches her.  It's pretty darn cute.  Maybe a bit overwhelming to poor baby, but E loves her so much!

Here is our cute family at the fire works. E- 18 months, myself, Charlie, and N- 3 years old.

N started out with his ears covered which he has been doing a lot lately when he hears a loud noise, but ended the show saying "It's not loud, Mommy! It's not loud!"  He really liked them.

E started the same way but after a while we went to this:

And sometimes this:

All and all they really liked them!  And we had a great time!

Back from a hiatus!

So I've taken a "break" for the last two years so I could have and raise this:

She now looks like this:

Don't let the innocent face fool you!  She's got attitude and opinions that she will make sure you know about!  And she's only 18 months old!  But we love her! She is a cutie most of the time!

He's Two! Can you believe it?

So our son turned two last week. I thought you would like to see some pictures.

Hospital pictures... not taken by Charlie I might add. We didn't have our cool camera at this time.

Look at those lips....

His dark hair... That 's the first thing I asked about him... does he have the red headed curse? Nope not this one.

He still likes to sleep like this!

Now the one year old.

Yes he was walking/running. Yes he has a mouth full of teeth!!! And yes we start them early around here liking Thomas the Train.

And now the cute Two year old.
Please notice he has hair in this picture and still a mouth full of teeth! Dad asked him to show him a smile and this is what he got.

He's BAAAA-AAAACK

Please notice my son's face....

He is happy, slightly mischievous,

All around good looking guy if I do say so my self.

Now please look at my son's face after experimenting with Magic Bubbles. You know those colored bubbles that are "washable". He got them for his birthday from one of his good buddies. Oh he loved them.... He wanted to blow them so bad, so of course I let him try. I gave him a wand with the bubbles on it and went in to start cleaning myself off and I come back out and my son looks like

the Joker off Batman. Well that's how my husband described it...

I just thought the out come was hilarious!

Please ignore that my son has no pants on. Luckily the shirt is long enough to cover everything.
